The M-CAP SUPREME Silver/Oil is an oil impregnated metallised paper dielectric capacitor, with the same series wiring as their MCap-Supreme capacitors. Mundorf's advanced winding technology enables the production of induction-free capacitors for wonderfully spacious and detailed sound reproduction. high-purity silver is used for the capacitor coating, and the winding is impregnated with a special oil developed in an exhaustive series of experiments and listening tests. Both these features contribute to an even fuller and smoother tonal richness and diversity. The M-CAP is an audiophile metallized polypropylene capacitor. In selection of the materials used, special attention was given to the sound properties. Great care taken during the production guarantees constant high quality and minimum electrical and mechanical tolerances. Thus, in the final inspection, maximum deviations in capacitance of 1.5 % are measured, so the guaranteed value of 3 % is far exceeded. The practically induction-free type of construction and the low loss factor of the M-CAP results in a very "quick" capacitor. The M-CAP forms the basis for vivid music reproduction rich in nuance. MKT capacitors are metallized polyesther flim capacitors. They range both in price and in quality between the low-loss M-CAP and the inexpensive bipolar electrolytic capacitors. The loss factor of an MKT capacitor is about 20 times that of an M-CAP, but less than a tenth of the loss factor of a bipolar electrolytic capacitor. (Loss factor M-CAP: 0.0002, MKT: <0.006, bipol. el. cap., smooth: <0.05, bipol. el. cap., rough: <0.08). MKT capacitors could be said to represent the "upper middle class" among capacitors. They are used both as parallel capacitors in high end applications and also in the signal path of good but cost-consciously designed frequency crossovers.
